LOS ANGELES – Come get your glide on this holiday season at HOLIDAY ICE RINK PERSHING SQUARE, celebrating its 17th season for fun in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, open everyday November 13, 2014 through January 19, 2015.
Nothing compares to the picture perfect setting of ice skating under the sun and stars surrounded by towering skyscrapers and historical landmarks at LA’s largest outdoor skating rink with the smallest admission price. A portion of proceeds will benefit the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation & Parks.
The newly renamed rink kicks off the winter season with a lineup of free, fabulous and festive activities for all ages. “Throughout the years, the rink has become a part of the fabric of downtown LA, and it’s the perfect place for families, couples and friends to share in fun and everlasting memories,” says Willy Bietak, Holiday Ice Rink Pershing Square producer and president of Willy Bietak Productions.
Holiday Ice Rink Pershing Square at 532 South Olive Street in LA is easily accessible by car, bus or Metro (Pershing Square stop). A partnership with Metro and Metrolink allows riders to receive a $1 skating session discount by showing their Metro/Metrolink transit receipt/pass. The Holiday Ice Rink Pershing Square will open for its unprecedented 17th season hosted by Olympic Silver Medalist, four-time US National Pair Champion and US Figure Skating Hall of Famer Peter Carruthers, with a special live solo performance from “Wicked” the Musical, direct from The Pantages, with skating performances by the City of Angels Ice Theater Ensemble, Snoopy from Knott’s Merry Farm and National Novice Pairs Champions Ai Setoyama and David Botero.

“Doggone” fun for all ages. Everyone’s loveable pup and friends perform a special “mini” showcase with festive music and holiday costumes as a prelude to the holiday skating spectacular “Merry Christmas Snoopy,” at Knott’s Merry Farm this holiday season.
Hot 92.3 Old School Skate Night: Saturday, December 6, 2014 / 7:00pm to 10:00pm.
Old School DJ spins up your favorite tunes from Hot 92.3 while their street team offers giveaways and interactive fun. Take home a memento picture from their photo booth.
“Wicked” Wednesdays: Wednesdays in December: 10, 17, 24, 31 beginning at 7:00pm.
Special “Wicked” fun in celebration of the award-winning musical at the Pantages Theatre. The ice will be aglow in a vibrant green while skaters enjoy songs from the musical soundtrack. Contests provide patrons the opportunity to win free tickets to see “Wicked” live at the Pantages Theatre.
